SARASOTA MEMORIAL HEALTH CARE SYSTEM

Sarasota Memorial Health Care System (SMHCS), an 828-bed regional medical center, is the second-largest acute care public hospital in Florida. With about 3,000 staff members and more than 1,000 volunteers, it is Sarasota County’s third-largest employer. A community hospital, Sarasota Memorial is governed by the nine-member elected Sarasota County Public Hospital Board. It is a full-service facility, with specialized expertise in heart, cancer and neuroscience services and a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, outpatient services, home health and long-term care among its many programs. It is the only provider of obstetrical services in Sarasota County. The hospital, founded in 1925, is among the top providers in the United States in the number of open-heart surgeries performed annually. CENTRAL FLORIDA HEALTH ALLIANCE

Leesburg Regional Medical Center, part of a comprehensive health system, is a 322-bed acute care hospital that has served the surrounding communities in Lake, Sumter and Marion counties for nearly 50 years. Along with a number of specialized services such as Alliance First Care and Alliance Labs, Leesburg Regional offers outstanding cardiovascular, neurosurgical and orthopedic care and is home to the region’s only primary stroke center designated with a Silver Plus Award by the American Heart Association. Also, the Leesburg Regional Acute Rehabilitation Hospital offers inpatient rehabilitation treatment for patients who have had a stroke, orthopedic, traumatic brain injury or other neurological disorders. HUNTSVILLE HOSPITAL HEALTH SYSTEM

Huntsville Hospital is an 881-bed hospital that was established in Huntsville, Alabama in 1895. A community-based, not-for-profit institution, Huntsville Hospital is the second largest hospital in Alabama. Huntsville Hospital employs more than 6,500 employees and has a Medical Staff with more than 700 physicians. Huntsville Hospital serves as the major referral hospital and trauma center for patients throughout the Tennessee Valley and is a teaching facility for UAB’s Family Practice Residency Program. The hospital also operates Huntsville Hospital for Women & Children, one of only three pediatric hospitals in the state. Affiliate entities of Huntsville Hospital include the 101-bed Athens Limestone Hospital, 185-bed Helen Keller Hospital in Sheffield, 25-bed Red Bay Hospital, 273-bed Decatur General Hospital, The Heart Center, Inc of Huntsville and a multi-specialty physician network.
